Horticulture research project
In the Dutch greenhouse sector, the waste water emission is a serious concern. By legislation (2018), the greenhouse owner are obliged to prevent the harmful crop protection agents (CPA) emission in the environment. In 2027, it is even aimed to have zero emission (no water, no nutrients) from the greenhouse. For both problems, Water Future is offering a good solution: a ion-selective desalination system. The last year several launching customers were contacted. They all confirmed that this is a unique system with strong competitive advantages.
Research project Mali
Hearing of the invention, the Netherlands Ministry of Defence made an opportunity to test the system in its base camp for the UN’s peace operation in Mali in April 2017. Three types of brackish groundwater and highly polluted river water were tested. This proved to be successful, illustrated by the fact that the health managers of the MINUSA base camp tested and approved the treated water as safe to be used for drinking. Dutch TV news as well as national newspapers repeatedly reported about this promising new technique.
