In the Dutch greenhouse sector, the waste water emission is a serious concern. By legislation (2018), the greenhouse owner are obliged to prevent the harmful crop protection agents (CPA) emission in the environment. In 2027, it is even aimed to have zero emission (no water, no nutrients) from the greenhouse. For both problems, Water Future is offering a good solution: a ion-selective desalination system. The last year several launching customers were contacted. They all confirmed that this is a unique system with strong competitive advantages. At two potential customers, fieldtests in a greenhouse environment were executed for a period of 2 months. On small scale, it showed the expected benefits. To prepare a commercial launch of the system, it has to be scaled up, to demonstrate long term stable performance, and to be officially certified. This is the main objective of Water Future for the coming two years.
